Educational Enhancements

Overview

Our Educational Enhancement program is designed to support and expand the educational opportunities available to students from 9th to 12th grade. Through a variety of sub-services, we aim to cater to diverse learning needs and preferences, from vocational training and dual enrollment opportunities to support for homeschooling and distance learning. Sub-Services

Vocational Training – 9th to 12th Grade

This service includes any type of technical school/classes/instruction that the student chooses, which leads to certification. YHS offers these classes that can be transferred to certain community colleges. ACE can assist with fees and supplies.

Home School/Distance Learning – All ACE Enrolled Students

This service will allow the parents and students to choose the homeschooling program they would like to utilize and assist with the tuition and purchase of distance learning materials and home education expenses. This service is not provided by the schools; parents must find a program on their own and it will have to be accepted by LCSD.

Dual Enrollment/Concurrent Courses – 11th and 12th Grades

This service is for students that want to enroll in college courses at Western Nevada College while still attending high school and receive dual credits. YHS has four teachers on staff who teach dual enrollment classes. The students will earn a high school diploma and fulfill requirements towards their college Associate degree, possibly completing it. Ace can assist with fees and supplies.

Advanced, Remedial, and Elective Courses – 9th to 12th Grades

This service provided by YHS will be for students that want to take credit classes for either advance placement or make up credit loss or take an elective class that may not be offered at the high school. These classes may be online. ACE can assist with fees and supplies.Summer Camps (Dates to be Determined)
